As God fearing individuals, they have always stressed the importance of a strong work ethic along with good character to their children and these traits have enabled them to be successful in business.
After obtaining years of valuable managerial experience, working in financial services for companies such as Banc One and American General Finances, Inc., Mr. Harris founded 1st Step Financial Services, Inc. in 1997. 1st Step Financial Services, Inc., a Mortgage Brokerage, currently has two offices, one in Largo, MD and another in Bear, DE. The company has grown in ten years from a “home based business” to now employing over 50 employees. Mr. Harris has worked as a licensed Realtor for over four years and has worked as an active real estate investor for over 10 years. His invaluable experience in such a wide array of real estate services has proven to be a successful mix. He works with numerous real estate investors, many times hand picking properties for them that earn them thousands of dollars in profit. This hands-on approach has proven to be a very effective one, especially for 1st time investors. Mr. Harris’s influence did not stop there; it ultimately encouraged his wife, Dedra, to become a valuable part of this dynamic real estate team in 2005. Dedra Harris, a product of Baltimore, MD, holds a BA in Political Science from Morgan State University along with a MA in Counseling from Bowie State University.

Jonathan Harris, originally from Mt. Vernon, New York, has lived in the Baltimore / Washington Metropolitan Area since 1986. He attended Bowie State University for both Undergraduate and Graduate studies, graduating with a BA in Marketing in 1991 and a MA in Administrative Management in 1994.
Mrs. Harris background in Counseling and Therapy has given her an uncanny ability to relate to all types of clients. In addition, the past 5 years, working primarily as a Homemaker, has given her a love and appreciation for real estate work. Although she has only been in the business for a couple of years, her professionalism along with her insistence to be the best has afforded her one referral client after another, with most referrals coming from past clients.
